Okay, this poor man’s air conditioner is not going to cool down the Taj Mahel, or a whole house, but it does an amazing job at cooling down small spaces. We really like this for use as a way to keep your car cool in those hot summer months that are heading our way.
You can make one of these guys for under $20, and maybe a lot less than that if you have some of the items around your home. You can’t use it if the grid goes down UNLESS you use the optional solar panel, or hook it up to a battery. Those things are optional. Just plug it in and you’re good to go.
If the air conditioning in your car breaks down and you don’t have the money to fix it, or you want to stay cool until you can get it into the shop then you’ll love this. You could also leave it running if you leave your car for awhile so your car stays cool. Just use common sense and don’t leave it unattended for hours at a time.
This thing works amazingly well in a tent, camper, small room, and would be great in an apartment. Sit it next to you and you’ll stay cool for quite awhile. It could be used as a great way to cool down your pets as well. With a little thought you can come up with lots of ways to use this.
Below the video we have included the items you will need to make your poor man’s air conditioner. The video gives you simple step by step instructions on how to make this, and proof that it works. It’s very easy to make, and is a fun project.
