Summer will be here is no time, and everyone could use a little help in staying cooler. What you will find here is a DIY air cooler. You have the option of going solar with it (explained in video). This solar powered air cooler is great for you home, and work space.

What we really like about this project is that it’s relatively inexpensive to make. Here’s a list of tools, and materials you’ll need to complete this project. Everything else is explained in the video below. We’ve also included a second video at the bottom of this post on how to hook up to a solar panel.

Tools:

  • Yardstick
  • 1 – 2” hole saw
  • Marker
  • Razor tool

Materials you’ll need:

  • 5 gallon bucket
  • Window screen, black plastic (minimum 24” X 76”)
  • Fan (computer fans work great)
  • Cooling pad, or filter material
  • 1/4″ Aquarium tubing
  • Clamp
  • Fountain pump
  • Push pin
  • Solar panel (optional)
